If you find this article title a bit dramatic you can blame Kanye West. The rapper/producer is set to release his sixth studio album in less than a month. The album - which is reportedly title "Yeezus" - is set to drop on June 18th, according to rumors.
The case that Mr. West is gearing up to release a new LP is looking more and more likely by the day. Last week Kanye debuted two new songs. The first track, "New Slaves," was Kanye released in true Kanye fashion; a video of the song was projected onto 66 buildings across the planet. A day after premiering "New Slaves" Kanye performed "Black Skinhead" on SNL (he also performed New Slaves).
If both tracks are part of an upcoming album then they certainly represent a new style in Kanye's ever growing repertoire. "Black Skinhead" is a vicious rap full of screams and drums out at an intense pace. "New Slaves" borrows the same attitude as "Black Skinhead" but delivers it's message over a slower, dark, bassy beat. Both tracks are thrilling and has us eagerly waiting for June 18th to see if these new albums rumors are indeed true. We shall see.
