Bugatti's New Beast

The king of all hyper-cars, Bugatti's legendary Veyron, is about to see end of its reign. Yesterday, the French carmakers pulled the curtains off the next generation of their exclusive line; and it's certainly something to behold.

Bugatti is calling the new generation Chiron and claims the car is so fast that they actually have to apply a limit to the top speed in order to keep drivers from destroying themselves and everything around them.

Not only is it faster (0-62 mph takes less than 2.5 seconds, 0-124 mph is done in less than 6.5s, and0-186 mph takes less than 13.6s. Top speed has been limited to 261mph) it is also more powerful and more expensive. The Chiron starts out at a cool 2.6 Million. Better start saving, huh?

"It is part of human nature to cross boundaries and set new records. This striving is also our driving force at Bugatti. The Chiron is the result of our efforts to make the best even better." -  Bugatti Automobiles S.A.S. President Wolfgang Dürheimer

Unlike Mclaren, Ferrari, and Porsche, Bugatti touts that to achieve a new threshold of power and speed they didn't need to build a hybrid. Because building the world's fastest production car isn't enough. You've got to be able to talk some serious game as well.

And can we blame Bugatti for bragging? Not at all. It took the same company that built the fastest production car in the world to top that same car. The Chiron is the only true successor to throne... and Bugatti knows it.
