Director Baz Luhrmann had originally intended his re-imaging of The Great Gatsby to be released this past holiday season but due to unknown circumstances the film has been pushed back to this May. To tide eager fans over until then the below trailer has surfaced.
Mr. Luhrmann is known for his attention to detail and captivating visuals. From what we can see so far he's got the 1920's nailed in both scale and style. What's most interesting about the film is that it was recently announced that Jay-Z will handle the score of the film. You may have noticed the trailer began with "No Church in the Wild" playing, a track from Jay-Z and Kanye West's collaborative album Watch the Throne. Luhrmann himself says that the music of the film is an area of great importance. The two are, admittedly, a bit of an odd pairing, but we're excited to see what the duo come up with. Let us know what you think of the upcoming film in the comments below.
