Best of E3 2012

E3 2012 has finally come to a close. And as sad as that may be, we were given a ton of great things to look forward to this year and further on into next year. From Beyond to the surprise that was Watch Dogs we take a look at some of the best titles from this year's convention.

Assassin's Creed 3 - If haven't heard of Assassin's Creed III then you must be living under, not a rock, but a mountain. This game was easily on the tips of everyone's tongue at the show this year. And who can blame them?

Assassin's Creed 3 had a spectacular showing at E3, making a huge splash at all of the press conferences, and impressing everyone with its scope, and elegance. Ubisoft has brought the story of the assassin's to the American Revolution and reworked the game-play from the ground up. The next installment in the Assassin's Creed franchise is bound and determined to be the best outing yet. Oh, and there's this...

Watch Dogs - This year's E3 was full of sequels, prequels, and spin-offs. So when a new IP reared its head everyone took notice. Premiering with near 10 minutes of stunning game-play, Watch Dogs had everyone begging for more. Set in a world not so different from our own, Watch Dogs gives players the ability to hack the world and use it as their weapon. Ubisoft certainly has a winner in this Sci-fi action game.

The Last of Us -  A lot can be said about a game like The Last of Us, but developer Naughty Dog chose to show everyone how awesome their game was rather than tell them. Protagonists Joel and Ellie amazed the crowds at Sony's press conference as they fought with gangs of tactful and well-armed survivors. The animations were fluid, the environments stunning, and the combat was especially barbaric. Ahh, gotta love a post-apocalyptic game with graphic violence.

Beyond: Two Souls - Wow. So much can be said about this upcoming title from Quantic Dream. Focusing more or story than action, Beyond aims to deliver to gamers the most immersive experience possible. We'd be really remiss if we didn't mention that the main character is played by Academy Award nominated actress Ellen Page. Dear lord, this game looks gorgeous.

Here are a slew of other titles that impressed us.

Nintendo's Pikmin 3
343 Studios' Halo 4
Ubisoft's ZOMBIU
