Disasterland

For his upcoming LA show, Mexican artist José Rodolfo Loaiza Ontiveros has recreated some of our favorite Disney characters, however he's presenting them in a manner far from anything we've ever seen before.
Welcome to "Disasterland."

José's paintings depict classic Disney characters in very un-family friendly scenarios. From sexually explicit pieces to a drunken Snow White, the work certainly flips the norm on what we would expect to see. José says his aim is to highlight the glaring differences between our ideals and actual reality.
"I think it's time to stop being afraid and to speak without hesitation about certain taboo subjects."
Some of the work references to pop-culture drama and news. For example the drunken Snow White represents the recent scandal surrounding actress Kristen Stewart's affair with director Rupert Sanders --Stewart starred in the recent film Snow White and the Huntsman, directed by the aforementioned male. Check out a few of José's pieces below, but be warned some photos may not be safe for work.
