The Miserable Ones

Beautiful, haunting, and down-right good is how we would describe everything we've seen of the following film thus far.

This Christmas one of the world's most beloved musicals finally hits the big screen; Les Misérables. The film is in the reigns of Tom Hooper, you may know him as the Academy Award winning director of 2010's The King's Speech (Yes, that director). Following the treasured plot-line of the musical, the film stars Hugh Jackman as Jean Valjean, who for decades has been hunted by the ruthless policeman Javert (Russel Crowe) after he breaks parole, agrees to care for factory worker Fantine's (Anne Hathaway) daughter, Cosette (Amanda Seyfried).

The original musical is timeless, and has been seen by over 60 million people in 42 countries. To say the cast and crew have a few expectations to live up to would be a serious understatement. We here at TTL, thankfully however, feel that the film is in good hands and can't wait to see it upon release next month. In the meantime we have Les Misérables' latest trailer to bide our time.
